This handy little nyloc is included with each of our Wheel Kits.
For your convenience these are sold individually, so add as many as you need.
Eccentric Spacers are the perfect solution for creating a pre-load from the V-Wheels to the V-Slot rail. They are added to one side of a set of wheels on a gantry plate.
The eccentrics give an approx 0.79mm adjustment range to allow for a very strong and secure connection between the V-Slot linear rail and wheel. A 10mm flange allows for a very sturdy base for a stable wheel mount. These Eccentric Spacers come with a divot on the outside which allows you to know at all times where the smallest part of the cam hole is.
Adjustments are made with an 8mm wrench.
OpenBuilds M5 Tee Nuts are designed and custom made with angled corners to allow for a smooth transition when sliding into V-Slot and C-Beam. OpenBuilds Tee Nuts are reversible. You can flip them upside down if you need more threading.
These are post insertion Tee Nuts that can be added anywhere along the slot of V-Slot or compatible extrusions.
These are handy as they do not need to be placed in from the ends of the extrusion – they can be easily placed in later in the building process.
Drop in Tee Nuts are installed by placing them in the V-Slot and then once the screw is engaged, it will turn them and engage them into the bottom side of the V Track. Once tightened the teeth grab into the anodized coating, to ensure a no-slip connection.
Use this Double Tee Nut to connect V-Slot and most T-Slot Extrusions end to end or use it on any connection point that has 20mm spacing (for example, the Actuator End Caps).
You can use these Double Tee Nuts just like you would a standard tee nut to make any connection that you need.
Double Tee Nuts are compatible with any M5 screw or attach the Double Tee Nut with set screws (sold separately) to allow for a nice low profile solution that will let the Delrin Dual V Wheels transition from one extrusion to the next.
This precision trapezoidal (metric) lead screws pitch and diameter are a perfect combination of high torque and speed. This screw fits the bill for most machine designs. and is equipped with a large diameter that helps eliminate whipping. A high pitch allows quick movement at 8mm per revolution. It’s a great power transition choice for your next build.
Use with the V-Slot Nut Plate and Nut Block
An example steps settings for your control software would be 200 steps per millimeter if you are running the common 1.8 degree steppers and your stepper driver is set to 1/8 step mode. To calculate different step scenarios for your control software, have a look at these handy steps calculators!
Common setup example:
NOTE: Because this lead has 4 starts with 2mm pitch between each this means the pitch will be 8. So 8 is what you would use for the pitch setting in the steps calculators.
This high quality aluminum flexible coupling can be used to connect your stepper motor to your lead screw and the flexibility will help with any misalignment issues.

NOTE: Please make sure that the coupling is tightened all the way down. With diameter tolerances you may find these couplings grab at the end of the adjustment limit. So, really give them a good tightening to ensure they grab.
This 8mm Acme Nut Block is a great choice for many projects requiring Acme linear motion. It serves dual purpose in that it can be mounted to the bottom of a 3mm/1/8″ plate, utilizing M5 nylon insert nuts and 15mm M5 screws, or it can also be mounted directly to V-Slot utilising two channels with 15mm M5 low profile screws and two tee nuts. These mounting choices allow for a host of modular machine applications. You can mount hit block along any length of V-Slot to create your linear motion.
This high quality 8mm Acme Anti-Backlash Nut Block is a great choice for many projects requiring lead screw linear motion. The pitch and diameter are a perfect combination of high torque and speed. This screw fits the bill for most machine designs and has quickly become a standard on OpenBuilds builders.
It serves more than one purpose in that it can be mounted to the bottom of a 3mm or 1/8″ plate utilizing M5 nyloc nuts and M5 x 15mm screws or can also be mounted directly to V-Slot utilizing two channels with two M5 x 15mm screws and two tee nuts. These mounting choices allow for a host of modular machine applications. You can mount this block along any length of V-Slot to create your linear motion.
To use the the Anti-Backlash Nut Block – Turn the set screw just enough to take out any play in the Nut Block. Then screw the lock nut on the top of the set screw to lock the set screw in place.
Use in conjunction with the 8mm Lead Screw
These Tee Nuts have a spring loaded ball that prevents unwanted movement of the nut in the slot. This allows for inserting nuts in the vertical position as they will not slide from gravity.
They are highly desirable to allow for adding tee nuts in a pre-built design. The Tee Nuts work by being angled and inserted under the lip of the extrusion slot.
This is a nice metal crimp clamp that will give your looped belt connections a finished look and are an alternative to the ‘zip tie’ method.
